My Review Of The DC Trip 2011

DAY 1:

It is about 7:00 AM and the bus is about to leave. So far, so good. 36 students from The Child School/Legacy high school plus 6 teachers are going on the trip. Everyone woke up early in the morning so when they got on the bus, they got some rest.

At around 10:00 AM we arrived in Deleware and are taking a quick rest stop. In about a half hour we will be back on the road again.

At around noon we arrived in Washington DC and are having lunch at the Old Post Office Pavilion. It used to be a post office, but now it is this really cool Pavilion with a bunch of stores. It is also a tower.

We are going to the college we were scheduled to have a tour of, American University (AU). It was a little boring. I am having such a good day so far.

We are now at the white house. There is a protest going on outside, but it was really cool.

At around 5:30 PM we had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

At around 7:30 PM we checked into the hotel we were staying at. We went swimming for about a half hour in the HEATED POOL until we had to be back in our rooms to get ready for bed.

DAY 2:

At 6:45 AM we woke up, got dressed and had breakfast at the hotel at around 7:30 AM. They had some good stuff, but NO BACON!!! How could they do that to us?!

Later in the morning we visited the FDR memorial! It was pretty cool! We got a great view of the Potamic River, The Washington Monument and The Jefferson Memorial. A little bit later we visited the MLK Jr. Memorial. It wasn't much, but it was cool!

At around 11:00 AM we departed to Catholic University, where we had another scheduled appointment for a tour. It was also boring, but pretty cool at the same time. We had lunch at the food court, which was pretty cool. At least we don't have to eat school lunch in a mucky lunchroom.

Next we had an appointment for a tour of the Capital Building, but we were a little early, so we visited The Air and Space Museum for a little bit. After, we lined up at the Capital Building for security check. Then, we got in! Our tour guide was pretty funny and the Capital Building was also very cool!

At around 5:30 PM we had dinner at Harriet's Family Restaurant.

Afterward in the evening, we visited the Vietnam Memorial, Korean Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial.

When we got back to the hotel we thought we were going swimming but it was too late, so we just hung out in each others rooms for about a half an hour before getting ready for bed.

DAY 3:

Another wonderful morning! We had breakfast in the hotel again, and departed for the National Museum of American History. Afterward, we departed for Delaware, took a quick rest stop for lunch and then went on a scheduled tour of Wilmington University. After that, we went home.

MY OPINION:

I personally had a wonderful time on the trip. I recommend you to go to Washington DC. My favorite part was the hotel. The hallways were one sided, the other side faced the pool, and it was really cool!

  1. This is more like an itinerary / diary rather than a review actually other than a tiny portion of your opinion at the bottom. Should have more of that though. Heh, just stating. :)
